Being asked “Where are you REALLY from?” was a common occurrence for Samantha. It affected her opinion of who she was and who she should be. She discovered her culture and began to embrace her heritage …and then came Covid. Samantha Bianes is a junior at Bonita Vista High School in Chula Vista, CA. She is an IB (International Baccalaureate) student and very involved in her school community.
