Join us Friday, July 3rd at 2pm, on Women Leading the Way Radio as we interview Denika Mafnas, U.S. Air Force Veteran and owner of Denika Glam and U.S. Army Veteran Toni Brooks, owner of Toni Brooks Brand.
Denika is going to share her motivating story on transitioning from the U.S. Air Force into civilian entrepreneurship. Owning a business requires focus and structure, skill sets that can be transferred from military service. Denika will tell us about her challenges and successes in creating a business that gives back to other female veterans needing a boost and continued encouragement to move forward into civilian life.
According to the National Women’s Business Council there are over 90,000 veteran women-owned businesses primarily service-based in health care and social assistance (18 percent); other service industries (14 percent); professional, scientific and technical services (13.9 percent); and retail trade (12.9 percent). Almost 90 percent of these businesses are firms that the founder is the only employee.
